Work-life balance has been different since the pandemic has hit. Trying to maintain the two has been a bit blurry for parents in the household. How have parents been able to keep the two separate since they are at home working and taking care of the family? When do they know it’s time to cut off for work and when it’s time to start family time? Do the children begin to feel neglected, or do the spouses begin to feel neglected? How do you balance the two? If you had a problem balancing the two before the pandemic, during the pandemic was the perfect time to try.Â
Setting a schedule to work is something that can help the balance with. Having a 9am-5pm schedule with breaks can give you the structure you need for work and family. Make sure to leave most weekends for family time and if the work isn’t that important, do it later. Do not be afraid to use the word NO when it does not suit your family needs. Balancing work and family is not easy, because one can get more attention than the other which can caused a bit of trouble. As women we have several responsibilities and as a mother we have even more. Not balancing can be detrimental to your mental and this is no good for anyone around you.Â
Keeping balance can be challenging, but having support is the number key to making things work. In the beginning, something will take the short end of the stick, but having a calendar sticking to management skills will help you and your family. You can have a successful career, be a mom and a wife as long as you all are on the same page.
